Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain (born March 24, 1977) is an American actor and producer. Her films that focus on feminist issues are her primary focus. She has received many awards such as an Academy Award as well as the Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential people worldwide in 2012. Chastain developed an interest in acting from an early age and made her professional stage debut in 1998 as Shakespeare's Juliet. After completing her acting studies at the Juilliard School, she was awarded a talent-holding contract with the TV producer John Wells. She appeared as a regular guest star in several television shows and played parts in various stage productions. Chastain made her film debut with Jolene (2008) aged 31. The actress went on to release six films in 2011, including The Tree of Life (2011) and Take Shelter (2011). Chastain was also considered for Academy Award nominations as a part in The Help (2011), in which she played an aspiring socialite. She also appeared in Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as a CIA analyst. The science-fiction films Interstellar (2014) and The Martian (2015) were commercially more successful than the horror film It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain has also received praise for her role as a strong-willed woman in the dramas A Most violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), and Molly's Game (2017), and in the TV miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (2021). After playing Tammy Faye Bakker, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress and Tammy Wynette in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (21) and Tammy Wynette in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (21). Chastain is the founder and investor of Freckle Films, a production company that encourages diversity in film. She has a strong voice on gender equality, mental illness and racial equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is her husband.
