Despacito, a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee was released in the year. It became the most streamed song at that in just six months. This mix of reggaeton and pop music has not only brought people back to this category, but also Latin music as a whole. In 2015 there were two mostly Spanish-language songs on the Billboard Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. In 2017, during the height of Despacito's popularity 19, 19 tracks mostly Spanish have made it into the Billboard Top 100. In 2020 it will be 41 tracks in this category. Following the time that Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in 2017, well-known artists began collaborating together with reggaeton singers. Drake and Bad Bunny collaborated to record MIA (2018) as did Madonna and Maluma on Medellin, Madonna and Maluma joined forces on Medellin in the year 2019. Some reggaeton artists were unhappy about the trend toward mainstream music in 2020. A new band, Rauw alejandro, was seeking to make a change. It often featured elements from various genres, as well as electronic dance.
